That dreaded time has come to call out the worst of the worst. While 2009 was a great year in many respects it was also a turdfest. But you have to call em’ like you see em’. The first step in solving a problem is identifying it and that's what we are here to do. Problem is, we all live in a glass house yet we must throw these stones. So we have taken the time to be introspective and call ourselves out just a little this year. Read up and enjoy.

I'm going to turn this one in under Anonymous, because some of your may know me.

The worst thing I have seen in Houston thus far in 2010 has got to be this article. You are a group of misled snark. For all of your self professed enlightenment you have the most narrow definition of what is acceptable in the city of Houston.

Don't like Affliction shirted suburban douches? Neither do I. Do I think Houston was better off before Washington had its most recent degeneration? No. My friends at FPH need to learn that you truly cannot have your cake and eat it too. You can't demand ever increasing funding for social programs, bike lanes, light rail, and historic preservation in the very same breath you berate the little booms that create revenue. Well, you can, but you're just flailing around for the easy props from other alternative media friends. It's not reality.

Houston thrives on our quick changes and our lack of zoning. We are kicking butt while others decay in their tight progressive pants. If the bro-burbs want to import their drunks to Washington, let them. Regardless of unfounded bilge that our HPD officers are getting tugged off along with the parishioners from Second, they will be arresting the drunks and extracting the price. It's the price that's going to support our city.

Aside from being some prime time armchair quarterbacking, your tantrums are evidence of a break from reality. You can have a great underground art and music scene, it's just going to follow the rich tradition of being in the cheap and unappreciated parts of town. You can stand in the street, leave trash, and claim that you are economically stimulating somewhere other than next to the gentleman paying the property taxes that build the city.

Get your angry mob of Hipsters. I have to get back to work before the fixies and courier bags catch up to me.

Best regards,
