Open letter to the 'mayor' of Montrose-
You are an absentee landlord. Just as Nero fiddled while Rome burned, such is the Chris Hutto. Hovering above us from his ivory tower at Catbird's, Hutto imbibes Old Speckled Hen as his constituents can barely afford a PBR. You have abandoned us Hutto. You promised us change. All we have gotten was more of the same nepotism, cronisyism, fascism,communism,transcendentalism,sacerdotalism, and psychopannychism
that has plagued our fair community for ages.
Where is the canal system you promised?
What of the yuppie immigration into the Montrose?
What of the solemn promise you made to rid our city of invading HPD officers?
It seems it was nothing more than empty rhetoric. So while you feed on the fat of your host, The Montrose crumbles beneath you.
So, it is time for regime change. A time for renewal. A time to clear the landscape of the despots that bleed us dry. I will run against you this February and, Allah willing, bring the much needed C H A N G E and H O P E and G O O D S T U F F the Montrose so craves.
Your days are numbered Hutto. You meet the same fate dictators have all met. Prepare to enter the dustibin of history.

All I have ever wanted was what was best for my people. Why must I be dragged through the streets just because I can't order O.E. 800 at Catbirds? Why Judas, why?

Mayor Hutto DID hook up the cyclists in town when he had the bike permit ordinance rescinded. Noble move brother, of the people, for the people. However, there IS, as Omar stated much needed assistance from your divine hand if you expect to retain your throne. Most notably, the yuppie tribes gathering their armies at the north, east, and west of our fine community. As of Oct. 31, 2009, their armies will have almost completely dominated the northern coast of Montrose affectionately once known as, PamLand, a hotbed of musical growth and DIY spirit for over 10 years. Omar just dropped a new venue in the heart of the Trose that is apparently, THE place to be most of the time. Your move Hutto.
As a fan of both Hutto and Afra, I can't take a side on this. I agree with some that both of you say..
Why can't Montrose have two mayors? Is Montrose not known for bending the rules, afterall?
I'd have to say I do miss the days of Sonya the Terminator's reign. Alas we are in troublesome times with Washington douchebaggery encroaching closer and closer to our walls daily.
I say we move city hall to Mangos and review our strategy for enriching Montrose, growing neighborhood businesses and maintaining our defenses against developers bent on diluting our culture by erecting condos on every block.
Chris as a friend I am sorry, but Omar has my support.
More beer, more music, more Montrosian owned businesses, and more bikes!
